ECDIS DM-800E

The DM-800E is a new ECDIS system by Danelec Marine, which is ideal for installation on existing ships.

The ECDIS DM-800E makes navigation easy and significantly improves safety at sea. The system offers precise information about the position of the ship, and includes intuitive route planning functions, ensuring optimal navigation routes, which in turn leads to reduced fuel consumption.

The DM-800E is currently under Wheelmark Type Approval DNV, and complies with the requirements enacted by the IMO regarding the installation of ECDIS on existing ships.

ECDIS DM-800E has been developed specifically for retrofit installations, and has apart from the well-known advantages of ECDIS, a number of other advantages and services.

Navmaster ECDIS is a second-generation Electronic Chart Display and Information System, incorporating the input of many navigators into its design.

It is powerful and flexible, suited for installation on newbuilds and simple to retrofit into existing bridge layouts. Three hardware options are available:  separate display and processor components, and a combined panel PC unit.

Each system can be easily retrofitted into existing vessels; for example the Navmaster 1000 panel PC can be mounted on a pedestal or on a counter top; for the modular options, the PC processor can be stored in under-counter housing with TFT display, keyboard and trackball at the conning position. Alternatively each system can be built into an integrated bridge consoles at newbuild or major refit stage.
